What is your style of photography and videography?
It can be really hard to describe styles in relation to wedding photography. We would describe our style as candid and unobtrusive. Only at the right times will we direct you on how we would like you to stand or where to look but for the most part we aim to capture the natural moments that unfold throughout the day.
What equipment do you bring to a wedding?
We have time-tested Canon cameras! They give us unparalleled detail when capturing your day. The Canon autofocus sensitivity combined with our fast Canon lenses means we can soak up the light in darker environments and still keep you in focus. We use on and off camera flash when the light gets too dark to make sure we still great fantastic photos. We also have a few other tricks in our camera bag to help us get the wow factor in your photos!
We take a laptop and hard drive on site with us to back up your photos to ensure the memories never get lost, and that you can rest knowing you memories are safe.
How far in advance do we need to book?
Your day isn’t reserved until you officially book us as your photographer or videographer so it’s always best to book as soon as you’re sure we’re for you. A retainer is due to reserve your date.
What are your rates?
A typical investment for wedding coverage begins at $1499 CDN for each photo or video package depending on your needs. Please see our pricing page for more information. BUT Orders with a combo of Photo and Video will receive further discount up to 20%!
We also offer a slim package for small backyard style weddings or city hall begins at $899 CDN.
How do I know how much time to leave for photos? When is it best to take photos?
Weddings are amazing… and stressful. We are here to work with you in order to figure out what does and does not work. Generally speaking planning to have your wedding photos at noon on a bright sunny day is not the best decision. We work closely with all our couples to make sure we set ourselves up for the highest chance of perfect shooting conditions
Are you the photographer and videographer that actually shows up?
Yes, sure, don’t worry about that!
Do you bring a second shooter or second videographer?
Some of our packages include a second shooter but this is an option and is not mandatory. Please know that having a second shooter is not a mandatory, it is more of a bonus. perfectly capable of covering your whole day by one our photographer or videographer !
What will you wear on our wedding day?
We will not come to your wedding in sweat pants! Seriously though, we like to dress nicely for my clients as we feel it helps us blend into the wedding crowd and we want to look nice for you guys.
Will our photos be in colour, black and white, or a mix?
We use both color and black and white processing. However the decision to make a photograph either or depends on the picture itself and the mood we are trying to convey. If you receive your pictures and wish for some to be one way or the other we have no problems changing them.
Do you provide retouching, color adjustment, or other corrective services?
All photos will be fully edited to the extent that you see on our website.
* Please note that the retouching process does not include things such as removing braces, adding or removing people from a photo, changing the colour of a dress, replacing faces, etc.. and that there may be additional fees if extensive editing is requested by the client.
How long after the wedding do we have to wait to get our photos?
The length of time before you receive your photos depends on the size of your wedding, length of day and time of year, but generally between 30 and 90 days. BUT you can always order an additional service for processing your photos and videos Out of Turn for an additional fee.
How will we receive our photos?
Photos are delivered via digital delivery (package dependent). You will have access to a private gallery where you can download and share your photos with friends and family as you see fit, after all you guys are the stars of the show. Wedding albums are available for an additional cost.
How many photos will we receive?
There are many variables associated with this question, the length of coverage chosen for your wedding, size of wedding party and family etc. However pictures can usually start in the 300 range and go upwards of there. We only select the best photos to give to you.
What type of album will we receive if we purchase one? And can we purchase an album outside of your biggest package?
You can definitely contact us about purchasing an album outside of our top tier package. We will send you samples and work with you to ensure you are happy and that the album fits in with your style and personalities!
Will you be posting images of our wedding on your website, Facebook, Instagram, etc..?
Yes we will, however we will be very selective with our choices. If there are issues we would ask that you please contact us.
What do you do to ensure that my photos will not be lost during the day of my wedding?
We use backups during the day and also record each part of the wedding day on different cards. At one point in the evening we disappear to backup all the photos thus far onto our computer and portable hard drive.
What information do you require before the wedding day?
We have a wedding agreement that both of you and we sign and agree to. About a month before your wedding we will ask you for more information such as confirming the venue address and shot list so we don’t miss any particular family members in photos during the day of.
Anything else we should know about weddings and photography?
A big aspect of getting great shots is great light. Photographers and videographers get excited with overcast days because the light is very flat, and easy to work with. If you are getting married and want your family photos and other photos done during bright full sunlight the first thing we will suggest is we find shade. Please keep the time of day in mind when planning out your wedding day. It will make your photos shine that much more.
